John stands on our hotel balcony which overlooks the red rocks and Oak Creek. We are happy to be here after a long drive and will be shortly going out for the much craved margarita and blue corn tortilla burrito and tourist shopping.
The next morning we attemped to visit Red Rock State Park, which we learned was closed due to flooding and hail the night before! Instead we went for a hike in the Coconino National Forest, home of many a vortex.
On the seven mile (both ways) trail to Bell Rock. It was a beautiful hike though we learned later we could have saved a lot of time by just parking next to Bell Rock.
Snoopy Rock.
The approach to Bell Rock, vortex. We noticed ourselves feelin light headed and very relaxed, could that have been the energy of the vortex, dehydration or the beauty of the place?
Cathedral Rock, another vortex, we will have to visit it on another trip. There are javelina living here, we saw as many of those as we did California Condors at the Grand Canyon.
Red soil! I once took a class in making paint from soil. This would be a great place to collect. Now off to Santa Fe! We have a six hour drive.
